August is the New September

It’s always been an industry norm to treat August as a slow, almost sleepy month—when out-of-office replies are the standard and calendars are full of vacation placeholders. But this year, it feels like someone flipped the script. August has been anything but quiet at Triptent. We’ve had an increase in client meetings, strategic planning sessions, and most unusually, new business pitches.

So, what’s going on? Why does August feel more like September this year?

One theory is the current financial climate. With markets fluctuating and uncertainty lingering, clients might be feeling the pressure to hit the ground running as soon as the summer winds down. This could be driving the need for earlier-than-usual planning, with a focus on setting clear objectives and strategies to ensure a strong close to the year.

Another possibility is the heightened emphasis on outcomes. Brands are under more scrutiny to deliver results, and this could be pushing teams to make every month count—including August. There’s also the idea that the line between work and personal time has blurred, making the concept of a “slow month” less relevant in today’s always-on world.

Whatever the reason, we’re here for it. If August is the new September, we’re ready to embrace the shift. It’s a new rhythm, but one that’s bringing us closer to our goals—and our clients’ goals—faster. So, here’s to keeping the momentum going, no matter what the calendar says.
